Saigon Day 1

Wow, today was my first full day in Vietnam and I can honestly say I suffered from extreme jet lag. Haha, but besides that, everything was great!!

Maybe except the temperature. Every place that did not have an electronic fan felt like I was in an oven. It's the hottest place I've ever been. Plus it drizzled a little today making it more humid.

But I do have something else to cheer up my day! Tomorrow my newlywed cousin, Candy, is going to teach me how to ride a motorcycle/scooter. I'm really excited and I brought a Hello Kitty helmet!

So yea, today we visited a lot of relatives and gave gifts. This city is do big and busy and it does not sleep at night! They keep selling food at their stands until 3-4 am! It's kind of the Las Vegas of Asia (minus the inappropriate stuff).

And you would not believe how many motorcycles are here. They practically have their own lane! Well with these many bikes, the whole street is dedicated to tear bikes. There's a car for every 100 bikes haha. Ok well I'm gonna upload some pictures now.

That picture with the wicker basket has a Rooster inside...

  1. Haha, there are that many bikes? No way! I am so glad you took your Hello Kitty helmet with you to Vietnam. I think that learning to ride a motorcycle it deinitely going to give you a burst of adrenaline lol :)

The pictures are gorgeous! I like the way the buildings are side by side in the first picture. There is probably little privacy on teh balconies, but it's a nice view for an aspiring architect *point point*

The food looks so yummy!! I would totally just go to Vietnam for that food. It looks delicious. I hope you got the recipe because you so gotta make that when you get back to the States.

The last pic kinda made me go "wow." I have never seen that many cables or wires in one place unless you count the hardware store which I don't.

I think that I need to save up some money and take a trip here. It looks beautiful and it looks like you're having a great time! I hope to read more about your adventure soon!!!
